Her pronunciation wasn't too bad, you couldn't hear what she was saying because of all the Goddamned brass! I like a trumpet as much as the next guy but Jesus Christ, turn the volume down a notch. Tori was on 8 or 9 and they cranked the wind up to 11. | | | 12-11-2009, 04:08 AM | #63 | | gimme gimme some truth Join Date: Jul 2001 Posts: 50,486 | Quote: Originally Posted by Jim eta: it was a nice "lite" moment coming after all that weird "WE ARE SCREWED" climate stuff. Her talk show appearances are spotty, but this was one of the good ones. | | | 12-11-2009, 07:18 AM | #64 | | ZedSprinkles Join Date: Nov 2000 Posts: 50 | [quote=eresos;5917774]um...where was matty & jon? were they mixed in with the house band? all you could see during the performance was tori & the brass band at the end when he told her she's a lovely lady i thought i could see jon but the drummer didn't look at all like matt. QUOTE] Jon was with the house band, but they never caught him on camera Matt was NOT there, it was their drummer | | | 12-11-2009, 07:37 AM | #65 | | Posting Bot Join Date: Sep 2004 Posts: 3,176 | thanks AliZ. That is what I thought. You can see someone with an upright at the end of the show with the house band but not his face and the drummer was clearly house bands. wonder why jon came and not matt.... but i agree with her vocals but her vocals have sounded weaker to me for years. monday night in particular it was very shallow...its gone beyond moving from her gut to her throat...it was like her voice is only in her mouth now ....soon it will be just her lips making sound it is just cuz she's toured like crazy for years and now her voice is paying the price. i still love her trying to play with more unfamiliar musicians. its always a good thing __________________ "this way, that way, i am of two minds" -sappho | | | 12-11-2009, 08:04 AM | #66 | | wild card inside Join Date: Aug 2005 Posts: 4,482 | just watched it. i thought it was pretty good! aww.. i <3 tori! | | | 12-11-2009, 08:17 AM | #67 | | chicken head! Then since she went solo in Australia, I kind of assumed that he couldnt have done the whole tour and backed out entirely, but they worked out something so he did the first 2 legs. I mean he just tweeted he is recording (and.. engineering) right now so I think it's just a lack of time, really. __________________ Starting over: Bruges, Belgium - Cactusfestival, 07/11/10. Gen Ad. Last time was with the Black Dyke Mills Band on Jools Holland in December 1995, I believe. On a side note, what was the piano she was playing? It had a different logo on it, couldn't quite make it out. | | | 12-11-2009, 09:38 AM | #73 | | She was looking out the window. I think it might actually make a difference because otherwise people won't know why she suddenly seems so different. My aunt saw her on t.v. last night and told me this morning that she knows I love her music and was surprised by what kind of music she sang. "Is she a lounge singer? I wouldn't have expected that." In other news, I hate Tori for making me love a song called "Pink and Glitter." Why is the darn song so catchy? | | | 12-11-2009, 09:43 AM | #74 | | Tear that shit off like a band-aid Join Date: Apr 2007 Posts: 1,921 | Quote: Originally Posted by Snow White Did you notice that Letterman never mentioned she was playing a song from a Christmas album? It could have been great...I love the melody but "darn roses" and the repetitive shower parts ruin it for me. | | | 12-11-2009, 09:51 AM | #75 | | A Real Bitchface Mary Join Date: Dec 2003 Posts: 639 | Just a thought. She should market this song as a Breast Cancer awarewness song. __________________ You can always take off the skirt and use it as a cape. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | All times are GMT -4.
