Yeah but that wasn't a talk show. I'm talking about Letterman, Leno, Ferguson etc.

thanks AliZ. That is what I thought.

You can see someone with an upright at the end of the show with the house band but not his face and the drummer was clearly house bands.
wonder why jon came and not matt....

but i agree with her vocals but her vocals have sounded weaker to me for years. monday night in particular it was very shallow...its gone beyond moving from her gut to her throat...it was like her voice is only in her mouth now ....soon it will be just her lips making sound
it is just cuz she's toured like crazy for years and now her voice is paying the price.

i still love her trying to play with more unfamiliar musicians. its always a good thing

My theory is that whatever obligation or objection he had to touring this year was in play last night.

Remember before the tour started he said he wasn't going to tour then all of a sudden he did. Then since she went solo in Australia, I kind of assumed that he couldnt have done the whole tour and backed out entirely, but they worked out something so he did the first 2 legs. Just my WAG.

Well, maybe Jon had other engagements in NYC or just thought it would be fun to fly out (I don't know where he's located) for the show and Matt decided to stay in Seattle/wherever he is atm. I mean he just tweeted he is recording (and.. engineering) right now so I think it's just a lack of time, really.

I liked it! Great to see Tori with the brass. Last time was with the Black Dyke Mills Band on Jools Holland in December 1995, I believe.

On a side note, what was the piano she was playing? It had a different logo on it, couldn't quite make it out.

Did you notice that Letterman never mentioned she was playing a song from a Christmas album?

I think it might actually make a difference because otherwise people won't know why she suddenly seems so different. My aunt saw her on t.v. last night and told me this morning that she knows I love her music and was surprised by what kind of music she sang. "Is she a lounge singer? I wouldn't have expected that."

In other news, I hate Tori for making me love a song called "Pink and Glitter." Why is the darn song so catchy?

I am frustrated that tori "showered" this song will cheese. It could have been great...I love the melody but "darn roses" and the repetitive shower parts ruin it for me.
